Fabric Cleaning Codes
CLEANING CODE - W (water based cleaners)
To prevent overall soiling we suggest frequent vacuuming or light brushing to remove dust and
grime.
Cleaning by a professional furniture cleaning service only is recommended.
Spot clean using the foam only from a water-based cleaning agent such as a mild detergent or
non-solvent upholstery shampoo. Many household cleaning solvents are harmful to the color and
life of a fabric so always pre-test a small hidden area before proceeding. Apply foam with a
soft rag or brush in a circular motion. Vacuum when dry.
CLEANING CODE - S (solvent or dry cleaning products)

grime.

Spot clean using a mild water-free solvent or dry cleaning product such as petroleum distillate
based products, Energine, Carbona, Renuzit, or similar. CAUTION- Use of water-based or
detergent-based solvent cleaners may cause excessive shrinking and water stains that cannot be
removed with solvent cleaning agents, may become permanent. Pre-test a small hidden area
before proceeding. Clean only in a well ventilated room and avoid any product containing
carbon tetrachloride which is highly toxic.
CLEANING CODE – W-S (solvent and/or water based cleaners)

Spot clean with a pure mild solvent (petroleum distillate-based product Energine, Carbona,
Renuzit or similar), an upholstery shampoo or the foam from a mild detergent. When using a
solvent or dry cleaning product, follow instructions carefully and clean only in a well ventilated
room. With either method, pre-test a small inconspicuous area before proceeding.
CLEANING CODE - X (vacuum or brush only)
Clean this fabric only by vacuuming or light brushing to prevent accumulation of dust and grime.
Water-based foam cleaners or solvent-based cleaning agents of any kind may cause excessive
shrinking, fading, staining, or distortion of the surface pile and therefore should not be used.
CLEANING CODE - P (100% Polyester flame-retardant Fabric)
Machine-wash at 120–160 degrees Fahrenheit. Wash dark separately. Tumble-dry on medium.
Fabric softeners not recommended. To press, use steam with low heat setting. Do not dry clean.
