About Nano Tex

Nano-Tex is a treatment that enhances textiles at a molecular level to repel liquids. The treatment particles are extremely small and permanently attach to the fabric fibers through a patented binding technology, making it an inherent part of the fabric that won't wear away. This allows the fabric to breathe while also increasing its durability (an average of 55%) and making it easier to maintain.

Key benefits of Nano-Tex include:

  • Inherent spill resistance
  • Increased durability
  • Maintained breathability
  • Preserved natural feel

Nano-Tex will not work on Olefin due to its low melting point. While Nano-Tex works effectively in most cases, an additional DuraBlock clear backing can be added for extreme pressure situations to prevent any liquid penetration.

The application of Nano-Tex is compared to building a durable wall rather than a precarious pile of bricks. Unlike conventional methods that just coat the fabric (which are less durable and stiffen the fabric), Nano-Tex manipulates fluoropolymers to organize themselves on the surface of the fiber. These "nano-whiskers" permanently attach to the fiber, allowing liquids and stains to bead up and roll off without affecting the fabric's feel.
